Pilgrimage.
Webster defines it as a pilgrim's journey.
He defines pilgrim as a person who journeys to a sacred place for religious reasons.
I am a pilgrim who is on a pilgrimage. My life is defined by love and the sacred journey into the arms of that love. As the old song goes this world is not my home. I'm just passin' through.
Pisgah.
This is the mountain that the Lord told Moses to climb at the end of his life. You see, the Lord had told Moses and he would not be allowed to enter the Promised Land. But at the end of his life, God told him to climb Pisgah and from that lofty height Moses saw with his own eyes the land of promise.
I chose this title because as of late I've been consumed with the idea that my life is a journey. And not in some trite, bumper sticker, Hallmark sort of way, but in a very real sense I do not belong. And thankfully, I don't want to. I have not arrived yet and in a lot of ways, I won't on this side of heaven.
But that is where I'm going. Oh glorious day.
But in the meantime I have a quest. A sacred journey otherwise known as Life.
