College Graduate

It came in the mail just the other day
It's official - I am a college graduate

Now what, you might be asking.
Well believe it or not I am living my dream.
Seriously.
My husband, Joey, and I moved back to our home town to do ministry at our home church called Jacob's Well. We went to school for ministry and got offers from churches in various places to do exactly that. But in our hearts we knew that this was the place that God had for us. We wouldn't be content anywhere else. So we are here living and working and doing what we love. We aren't getting paid to do what we love, but we are working towards that goal. And actually, we are getting paid for it - just not in the traditional ways.
Every time I'm at church and I look around at all these people that I love so deeply
Every time I lead worship
Every time a kid in our youth group asks us to pray for them
Every time I realize my address says Mt. Carmel, IL
my heart feels so full that it could burst
I know there is more that God has for me. I am really just beginning this journey - taking my first few steps into my destiny. But I am loving every minute of it. Getting my diploma in the mail really served as a reminder that I spent 4 years of my life studying and working to get to where I am today.
So every table I wait on
Every movie I rent out
Every bulletin I make
Every batch of cookies I bake
will lead me to another part of my destiny. This all means something and that's comforting to know.
So I guess my advice for the day is enjoy the journey and milestones along the way. I know God does.

this is the face of a college grad :)
